Hope CG Word - 27th May 2011

Today was the first time Danielle Lai did word and it was good :)

The word session was about Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead after 4 days.  John 11 teaches us that we need to put aside our tiny puny ideas and learn to trust in God.

We face many giants in life. Small giants, big giants. However, if we do not have giants to fight, we don't go looking for them. Giants could be the fear of writing a letter for your boss, sharing word for the first time, making your religious stand around friends or even fear of being home alone.

Do we trust God enough to deliver us from life's giants or do we run and hide when one comes around?

Today the cell shared our prayers that has yet to be answered. I will post it up and trust God to bring it to pass.

"Jesus, Lover of My Soul"

Sounds familiar? Sang it before? It was written by Charles Wesley in 1738. He was the brother of John Wesley, founder of the Methodist church. There is a story behind this song.

He was caught in a storm and he nearly died, but God delivered him. This songs says that all that he needs is God, because God is his healer, refuge and the love of his life.

Out of 6500 hymns written by him, this is one of his best.

The song goes like this:-
Jesus, lover of my soul
Jesus, I will never let you go
You've taken me from the miry clay
You've set my feet upon the rock
And now I know

I love You, I need You
Though my world may fall
I'll never let You go
My Saviour, my closest friend
I will worship You until the very end

By Charles Wesley, 1738
